I bought this place because it is the closest thing to paradise I have ever seen. There are almonds, coconuts, passion fruit, grapes and other fruits and vegetables growing on the land, along with flowers, hummingbirds, etc. Hammocks, a little tiki hut, giant terraces upstairs and down. You feel the magic of this place the second you open the door, and you never want to leave. It's secluded, yet close to the main road and I only need public transportation to go anywhere. The pounding of the sea is the soundtrack to your life. I understand you cannot build that close to the beach any longer, but my house was grandfathered based on the time it was built. There is rarely anyone on the beach other than me, unless they also own or rent nearby.

The beach is the best beachcombing spot I have ever found. There are sand dollars, shells, stones, raw amber, sea glass, starfish everywhere, every day.

There is a well and a septic tank, regular trash pick up, cable and wifi service to the house. There is also a gas stove, refrigerator, blender, toaster and water machine for drinking water. The temperature variance is minimal, so the 47 windows as well as strategic fans provide all the weather proofing you need. There is a palm frond roof upstairs, and metal roof downstairs, but the rest of the house is concrete and wood. It suffers no hurricane damage for the time I've owned it, even when Maria passed just offshore.

Unfortunately, I just cannot make room in my life to spend time there. It seems like a terrible waste to own such a place and not visit much. My work keeps me away for the foreseeable future, and I simply cannot justify owning it any longer.

I rent it to vacationers online, and it provides pretty decent income. It breaks my heart to part with it, but it needs more time and care than I can contribute. I hope to sell to another world traveler who is looking for a quiet, beautiful place to call home.

There are plans to build a hotel nearby, and the rest of my beach is taken up with new construction and walled in compounds. I know the property value will only go up, I just can't keep it any longer.
